English Wagon, the company behind GrammarLocker™, is the brainchild and passion project of Gopa Nair, who is originally from India and lives and works in England.

“When it came to helping my children with their English, I found they weren’t retaining or building on what they had already learnt and there just weren’t enough exercises to practise with every day,” he says.

“And, frankly, I didn’t have enough time to spend helping them with their grammar and expanding their vocabulary – as most working parents wouldn’t have. And so English Wagon was born.”

Gopa explained that he wants people to be able to learn English so that they can demonstrate their true skills and professional value at work.

“Sometimes the English you learn at school isn’t like the English that you need to work internationally,” he explains

“Too many times I see brilliant, talented individuals unable to fulfil their potential or move to the next stage of their career, not because they lack skills or ideas, but because they struggle to speak or write clearly and accurately in English.

“I want to create a platform where students can practise every day to build their knowledge and confidence. Books are fine, but they aren’t interactive and are limited by pages. With GrammarLocker™, we continually add content so that our community is continually challenged with more examples, exercises and true breadth across all topics. That way, they can build a strong foundation then practise to make rules and vocabulary stick.”

Gopa founded English Wagon in 2024, launching its first product, GrammarLocker™, with more courses planned to create a full online English language school in the future.

“I’m passionate about how having good, real-world English can transform people’s careers, prospects and lives, and I want there to be no barrier for anyone.
